FAQs
-
A Therapy Intensive at Creekside Counseling is a focused, extended therapy session (typically 2–3 hours) that allows you to work deeply on your challenges in a single, powerful format. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, intensives are designed to help you progress more quickly by addressing root causes of trauma, anxiety, and emotional wounds in a concentrated, uninterrupted setting.
Our Therapy Intensives combine Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) with the Healing Our Core Issues (HOCI) model, providing both rapid symptom relief and deep emotional healing. This unique blend allows you to:
Dive deeply into the issues that matter most without the weekly interruptions.
Address and resolve underlying trauma, attachment wounds, and anxiety triggers.
Reduce the time spent repeating check-ins or managing day-to-day stress unrelated to your core goals.
Integrate your insights and progress in a way that feels transformative and supportive.
Whether you’re seeking rapid relief or a fresh start, our Therapy Intensives offer a flexible, customized approach to help you heal and grow at your own pace.

Before starting a Therapy Intensive, we’ll meet for a Pre-Intensive Session to clarify your goals and explore your current stressors, support system, and coping strategies. Together, we’ll identify the areas where you want to experience relief or growth.
During the Therapy Intensive itself, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in deep, focused work using a combination of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and the Healing Our Core Issues (HOCI) model. This approach helps you process and release emotional pain, reduce anxiety, and build new, positive insights in a safe and supportive environment. We’ll address key themes such as:
Past or present relationship dynamics
Significant life events or traumas
Underlying beliefs or patterns that keep you stuck
Future concerns or transitions
The intensive format allows us to bypass the weekly session cycle and work more deeply and continuously, supporting faster, more meaningful progress.
Afterward, a Post-Intensive Session will help you reflect on your experience, integrate your insights, and plan for lasting growth. This ensures that the benefits of the intensive continue to support your healing journey and align with your long-term goals.

More Questions You May Have
-
Weekly therapy often involves 10-15 minutes of check-ins, 20-30 minutes of processing, and 10-15 minutes of closing—meaning it can take months and thousands of dollars to resolve a single issue.
In contrast, intensive therapy condenses the process into a half-day session, with 2-3 hours of deep processing, often resolving one or more stressors for much less money. It’s more efficient and cost-effective, as it allows for quicker resolution, fewer sessions, and less time away from work or childcare.

Yes, many insurance companies (typically PPOs) reimburse part of psychotherapy costs, though I am an out-of-network provider.
To fully understand your benefits, it's best to check your policy details beforehand, including coverage for out-of-network providers and whether multiple hours of therapy in a single day or week are reimbursed.
I will provide a Superbill for all direct contact therapy services included in the program.
Please note, insurance requires a diagnosis code for treatment. I recommend calling the customer service number on your insurance card for specific plan details.
