Therapy for Children and Teens

Helping children and adolescents find hope and change

Find possibility through play.

Is your child struggling at school or at home? Does your teen refuse to talk with you and share what’s really going on? Children often communicate their feelings through behaviors such as crying, tantrums, anxiety, refusal to talk, or impulsive behaviors. Counseling for kids and teens can help them find hope and empowerment.

I believe in meeting children where they are at developmentally and often because of developmental age, this means that traditional talk therapy doesn’t work. Children’s natural language is play and through playing with toys, children can learn to express feelings and thoughts. “Why play?” you might ask. I encourage you to learn more through the Association for Play Therapy here.

Teens can experience all types of challenges (socially, at school, or at home) that create anxiety, depression and uncertainty about their future. I can help you find ways to tackle difficult situations and stressors, while providing you a space where you feel heard without judgment.

Areas of expertise: anxiety, depression, peer relationships, school issues, family conflict, ADHD, behavioral concerns, trauma, self-esteem, divorce, life transitions, high functioning autism.
